UI Interaction
Despite the versatility of XR interactions, graphic user interfaces are still extremely useful for displaying information and inputting data. The Immerse SDK provides two ways in which to do this.
Guides have been provided for each input method to help you get started.
The cursor interaction method should be familiar with most users as it is commonly used for menu interactions in standalone VR headsets.
Pull the trigger on the controller to engage with the selected item, hold it down and move the controller to ‘click & drag’. Pulling the trigger on a currently inactive controller with switch it to be the active input.
Physical collision with UI elements to trigger events. Although this is a more limited input method, the ‘pressing’ of buttons can feel more natural.
